Haynes Outdoors opened for business on January 1, 2002. Their original system consisted of three existing computers that were purchased as part of an acquisition of F&R Equipment, of Orange, Virginia, plus a new Windows 2000 System Server and a custom built Real/32 System Server, along with one new computer for a sales office. A LAN system was installed to integrate all operations. In addition to POS LINKER, Haynes Outdoors installed PartSmart along with Kubota Link, and is connected to the Internet via DSL. A Watchguard Network Security Applicance firewall provides protection to all users sharing the Internet. Rounding out their security policy, Noton AntiVirus, Corporate Edition was installed. This version of Notron AntiVirus automatically checks for updates on a regular basis and applies the latest virus definition files to each client connected to the LAN.
